Operatives of the Niger State police command have arrested a 60-year-old man by the name, Haruna Lawal, who allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl after luring her with N100.

The sexagenarian was arrested in Wushishi town, headquarters of Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State, on Saturday, 11th of July.

Reports have it that Lawal used N100 to lure the eight-year-old girl, who was hawking fish in the area into an uncompleted building, where he had canal knowledge of her.

The state police command spokesman, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident and disclosed that an investigation will soon be concluded.

He said: ”The suspect has been interrogated and had confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.
