Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Dr Solomon Ogunji, has died after a brief illness.
According to The Guardian, Chief John Okiyi-Kalu, who serves as the state’s Commissioner for Information, confirmed in a statement he delivered on Sunday, 24th May.
According to Okiyi-Kalu, Dr Solomon Ogunji passed away on Saturday the Abia State University Teaching Hospital after battling with high blood pressure.
“Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, who received the sad news with shock yesterday (Saturday) has personally communicated and condoled with the bereaved family and he is currently in mourning,” he revealed in his statement.
“The state government prayed God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” said Okiyi-Kalu.
