Nigerian actress, Osiobeloveth, has taken to social media to accuse the Rivers State Taskforce of destroying the food items she bought amid the market lockdown imposed by the state.
Indeed, imposing a market shutdown is highly important for us to contain the virus. However, the destruction of food is unprecedented and absurd.
“This is what happened today in Port Harcourt. Things I bought with my friend today were destroyed by Wike task force.
They poured kerosene on things my friend [and I] already paid for. Considering how expensive things are in the market now, everything we bought [was] destroyed before our own eyes.
“We couldn’t move we just stood there in shock at a point we had to run and this is not even in the market ooo.
“This country is one hell of a crazy place to be in,” She added.
Last week, another viral video emerged which showed Police Officers destroying hundreds of drinks because of the market shutdown.
The IGP subsequently came out to rebuke and condemn their unruly behaviour.
