Barcelona icon, Xavi Hernandez has reportedly agreed to replace Quique Setien as the new manager at Camp Nou.
61-year-old Setien has not been able to deliver at the club after replacing Ernesto Valverde in January and has consequently, been under severe tension.
This has led to speculations that the club’s board have already resolved to discharge him of his managerial duties and pave the way for Xavi.
according to Mundo Deportivo, a ‘firm agreement’ has been finalised which would see Xavi, 40, take charge of Barca at the end of this season.
This deal will see Xavi rake in a bumper £5.4million per year.
Xavi is the current manager of Al-Sadd in Qatar. He took over at Al-Sadd last summer.
Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi and his teammates appear to be in support of the move.
The legendary Spanish midfielder joined Barcelona when he was 11. Made 767 first-team appearances for Barcelona, scoring 85 goals with 182 assists.
He also won eight league titles, four Champions Leagues and three Copas del Rey, as well as two Club World Cups.
