Nigerian singer 2baba has reacted to the recent passing of Dr Victor Olaiya in a very touching way.
The late singer’s music touched many lives across Nigeria; some referred to him as the master of highlife. Needless to say, it was indeed a life well-spent by Victor Olaiya.
Several tributes have been pouring since his death. The latest is coming from none other than a singer who once upon a time shared a stage with him.
“Devastated by the news of your passing. Dr Victor Olaiya – maestro, mentor, legend. Thanks for the beautiful music. Thanks for the inspiration. Blessed for the honour of sharing a mic and stage with you. Rest in peace baba,” Innocent Idibia posted.
Recall that 2Baba worked with Victor Olaiya for the remix of the latter’s hit song “Baby Mi Da”.
A collaboration that reminded the elderly of the maestro of highlife and revealed to the young a bit of what the legendary Victor Olaiya gave to Nigeria in the 60s.
