ASUU Begins Indefinite Strike

Published on

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has announced that it will begin an indefinite strike with immediate effect. The Nation quoted the union’s President, Biodun Ogunyemi, as revealing this during a press briefing in its National Secretariat in Abuja on Today, 23rd March 2020.

According to the Biodun, the Federal Government of Nigeria has failed to address the issues raised by its members.

Recall that the Union previously embarked on a two weeks warning strike. Apparently, the strike will become an indefinite one following this announcement.

In any case, schools are not expected to resume as the NUC ordered all universities in Nigeria to close following an increase in the number of covid-19 cases in Nigeria.
