How to Clear DStv Error Codes in Minutes (Clear E16, E32 & E30 Errors)

You can clear DStv error messages using USSD, SMS or on the official website of DStv. In this guide we’ll show you how to clear the common error codes on DStv using all of the three options above.

There are several factors that trigger error messages on DStv. And, from the message displayed on your screen, you should be able to tell what’s wrong with your device.

Bad weather usually leads to an error message saying “E48 no signal“. If that’s the case for you, then there’s nothing you can do about it, since you have no control over the weather.

In the event that you have an active subscription and a good weather yet you see the following errors:

E16: This channel is blocked because it may not be part of your package or your services may have been suspended.

E19: Your account has been suspended.

E30: Checking the subscription status.

E32: The Smartcard is not enabled for this channel. It may be that your account has been suspended.

No one likes seeing those error messages, but from time-to-time it may appear on your decoder.

Fortunately, whenever you get any of the error messages above you can remove it quickly & easily via USSD, SMS or on website.

How to Fix error codes on DSTV

Please remember to make sure that your Smartcard is inserted and your decoder is powered on when fixing errors.

On DStv website:

  • Visit DStv Self-care portal
  • Enter your Smartcard / IUC number in the appropriate space
  • Select the error type displayed on your screen.
  • Enter Captcha text and click on “Fix Error”

After completing the steps above you’ll receive a message telling you that your Smart Card has been reauthorized.

Using SMS

SMS the word RESET along with your SMARTCARD NUMBER to 38882 (Nigeria) or 1779 (for Ghana).

For example, send RESET 1234567890 to 38882 if 1234567890 is your smartcard/IUC number and you’re living in Nigeria.

The above operation sends a message to DStv to reset your decoder and clear the error message.

Using USSD

  • Dial *288*2#
  • Select 1 for DStv
  • Enter your smartcard number and surname for confirmation of your account
  • Select the option that says fix errors
  • Select the error type and confirm.

After completing the steps above your decoder will be refreshed.
