The NCDC has announced 2 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus, thereby taking the nationwide tally to 46. Out of the two new cases, Lagos and Osun State have one apiece.

As such, the Lagos state has now recorded 30 cases of the virus while Osun State is recording its first.

“Two new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria,” the NCDC wrote.

“1 in Lagos and 1 in Osun Both cases are returning travellers to Nigeria in the last 7 days As at 07:00 am 25th March, there are 46 confirmed cases of COVID19 in Nigeria.

“2 have been discharged with 1 death,” the statement added.

The deadly bug which debuted in Nigeria on 27 February 2020, when an Italian citizen in Lagos tested positive for the virus. Since then, the number of cases has continued to increase, albeit gradually.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has now put several measures in place to halt the spread of the virus. For example, the government have at the moment placed a travel ban on countries with over 1000 cases.
