A great design is the secret to a great business, so It’s never a bad idea to want more from designers. In fact, you must put a lot of energy into getting only the best design for your business. It’s the first step to success.

I recommend you hire graphic designers from websites created strictly for design and nothing else. And I’ll be sharing those websites with you in this guide.

Reason is, a website that caters for specific needs will be more efficient than a website that caters for a broad range.

Furthermore, working with websites that provide only graphic design services will always guarantee a better support and understanding of special issues only people familiar with design can detect.

It’s not that you’ll not find good graphic designers in other websites, but outsourcing in a bigger platform is always more complicated.

If you’re interested in hiring or becoming a freelance graphic designer, here are the best 6 websites created to service just you:

1. 99designs

99design: Design is secret to great business

If you’ve just obtained your degree in design and you’re yet to announce yourself to the world, 99designs provides you with a platform to do just that.

99designs adopts a contest-based strategy to connect clients to designers in services involving, logo design, websites design, T-shirts, etc.

Getting started as a graphic designer on this platform is not easy, though. Because you’ll be competing against some of the best from around the world.

But the moment you begin to build a reputation for yourself, the big clients and companies will begin to notice you more.

99designs is the largest freelance graphic design website on the web—so if you’re interested in hiring a reliable graphic designer without hassle, head straight to 99designs.

If the prospect of entering into bidding wars with older freelancers scares you, then Awesomeweb is the platform created just for you.

While 99designs is a place for both starters and advanced graphics designers, Awesomeweb is for advanced freelancers.

All freelancers on Awesomeweb are pre-vetted and verified—so you needn’t worry about getting low-quality jobs.

From a freelancer’s perspective, I’ll have to admit that the fees charged at Awesomeweb is relatively much more smaller compared to the other big platforms out there.

Awesomeweb fees compared to other platforms

Most freelance website take a cut of 10-20% from your earnings for linking you up with clients. That fee can get really huge when you begin to earn more.

Let’s do the maths…

If you earn $3000 on Fiverr, it’ll take a cut of $600 plus other processing fees.

Now, that’s what I call ‘gross’…

Awesomeweb has used the overcharging of freelance graphic designers by other platforms to their advantage. It capitalizes on how low its fees are compared to other platforms right within its homepage.

  1. Good review, second that. In my experience as a freelance designer, new platforms have oftentimes an edge over existing ones because I guess they have to try harder. I recently switched to Insolvo which gives me almost half of my clients and totally loved it.
