Funke Akindele was born on August 24th, 1977, which means she celebrates her birthday on the 24th of August every year and she’s currently 46 years old.

Place of Birth & How She Started
Funke Akindele was born in Ikorodu, Lagos state, into a family of three; a boy and two girls. And she is the second child. Her father is a retired school principal and her mother is a medical doctor.
She had both her primary and secondary education in Ikorudu, Lagos state, Nigeria.
She attended Ogun state polytechnic now known as Moshood Abiola polytechnic. There, she obtained an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in mass communication.
In addition to the Ordinary National Diploma, she obtained a degree in Law from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba.

Marital status
Funke Akindele got married to Adeola Kehinde Oloyede on May 26, 2012. However, the couple divorced in July 2013, just one year into the marriage. According to them the divorce was as a result of “differences that cannot be reconciled”.
In May 2016, she married Nigerian rapper Abdul Rasheed Bello also known as JJC Skills and she has several step children with him.

Acting Career so far
She came into spotlight after she starred as Bisi, a highly intelligent and curious secondary school student in the popular sitcom titled ” i need to know”.
“I need to know” was a Nigerian family-oriented television series that aired on the NTA network from 1998-2002. It was Sponsored by the United Nations population Fund (UNFPA).
Although she came into spotlight after starring as Bisi, she rose to stardom in 2009 after starring in the movie “Jenifa”.
Meanwhile, she plays the lead character in the ongoing hit TV show titled “Jenifa’s Diary” alongside Fals the bahd guy, Juliana Olayode and a host of others.
Speaking in an interview in July 2016, she said she is not acting more in the Yoruba film industry due to issues of piracy then.
Funke Akindele runs a non-governmental organisation known as the Jenifa Foundation. Her NGO aims at nurturing young talents and providing young people with vocational skills.
She is also the CEO of Scene One Film Production.
