Popular Nigerian actress, Genevieve Nnaji, has been listed among the people to become members of the Oscar Academy.
The thespian is among the 819 members that The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited to join The Academy’s membership class.
Those invited, include artists, as well as executives who have made an extraordinary contribution to the movie industry.
These invitees who have made a recommendable contribution to theatrical motion picture were chosen from 68 countries across the globe.
Asides from Genevieve Nnaji, another invitee who happens to be from Nigeria is Akin Omotoso.
Akin Omotoso, 46, is a Nigerian film director, writer, and actor.
Should the 819 members accept the invitation, agent members of the 2020 class will be allowed to vote in the upcoming Oscars.
Genevieve took to Twitter to accept the invitation.
The mother of one wrote: “I’m honored to be a member of the family. Thank you @TheAcademy!!”
