Several Nigerians complain of harassment for keeping dreads or having tattoos on a daily basis.

As such, they thew a question regarding it to popular police officer Dolapo Badmus. Well, her answer suggests that shouldn’t be the case since having dreadlocks or tattoo doesn’t automatically make anybody a criminal.

She said, “joined the panellists of the social media week seminar organised by @sterlingbank to address the topic – “Social Media Wars- Dreads, Tattoos and Passwords’ I contributed from the angle of a law enforcement officer… As expected questions were asked on why bearers of tattoos and dreadlocks were always subject of harassment and intimidation from the law enforcers?

“Various rational suspected to may have been the cause were discussed and the clear thing I was able to make them understand at the end is that “HAVING TATTOO ON YOUR BODY OR DREADLOCKS ON YOUR HEAD DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE YOU A CRIMINAL……resist the intimidation of any law enforcer who wants to use that as basis to terrorize you by remaining calm, firm, courteous and insisting on not being a criminal for having that…at the end they were informed of numbers to call whenever they encounter such!

“It was an impactful session…..I appreciate the organisers for that great CSR….God bless our dear nation Nigeria,” she added.

Well, it remains to be seen if bearers of tattoos and dreadlocks will experience a change of attitude towards them.
