Nigerian Fuji singer, Abass Akande Obesere is back on the limelight after nineteen years.

The singer who released “Egungun be careful” nineteen years ago admitted that he is not certain why the song has resurfaced and has become the rave of the moment on social media.

He said, ” I sang the song then like fun but the way it came out again, I still can’t understand because it’s beyond my imagination. “

The Nation reported that while he was on an interview with Adeniyi Adewoyin, the singer revealed that his kind of music never fades.

He said “One thing I know is that the kind of music I play never fades. In whatever you’re doing, don’t limit it to just today but always think about tomorrow.

I may be singing with slangs but all the slangs that I use have meaning and that is why ‘Egungun Be Careful’ is still relevant today,” Obesere said.

When explaining the meaning of the slangs ‘Egungun Be Careful’, the singer noted that the song is like a warning.

He said, ‘Egungun Be Careful’, is just like a warning that anybody can use anytime. You may be going out with a lady that doesn’t suit you but you don’t know and people will be telling you that you better be careful with that lady you are going out with.”

“The singer who stated that it was God who could have pulled off such a thing said he is thankful to God.”

When asked to compare the success of his music in the last one week to nineteen years ago when he released it, the singer said:

“I have made more connections and more money in the past one week trust me. When you have confidence in yourself and at the same time have your God and never give up on whatever you are doing.”

He, however, disclosed that he will be doing the remix of the song with Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile.

” The project will be released very soon but by next week Monday we will know the date when we will be shooting the video.”

Obesere denied claims that he paid social media influencers to start the trend, he said that would have cost billions of naira and that’s why he thinks it’s God’s works.

He also revealed that he has been receiving calls fro, “Everywhere, not only in Nigeria,” since the music started trending again.

When asked how he normally gets the slangs he uses in his songs, he disclosed that “he is a good listener and could just pick out some words from what a person he is discussing with says, and that will become a slangs for him to ouse.
