Officers of the Nigeria Police Command in Plateau State have arrested a 20-year-old man identified as Isaac Boniface. Police officers paraded the suspect for raping a 4-year-old girl, which he subsequently confessed to.

The suspect who is a resident of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State lured the little girl, whom he described as his friend, to a corner and committed the ungodly act with her.

While speaking to the police, he revealed that he lived in the same compound with the girl and her mother. He also claimed that having carnal knowledge with the kid was a mistake.

“My name is Isaac Boniface and I live in the same compound with the girl and her mother. Anytime I was going to work or passing by, the girl would greet me and I would greet her back because we are friends,” The Punch quoted him as telling journalists.

“So, one day, I took her to a corner in the compound and had carnal knowledge of her. The mother later told me to follow her to somewhere and that was how I was arrested by the police.”

The State Police Commissioner, Issac Akinmoyede told journalists that the suspect will be charged to court as the police conclude investigations.
