Here are the cut-off marks for various institutions in 2020:
- Private Universities cutoff mark: 140
- Public Universities: 140
- Polytechnics cutoff mark: 120
- Private Polytechnics: 110
- Innovative enterprising institutes cutoff mark: 110
- Colleges of Education (COE) cutoff mark: 100
This mark is most times based on the collective performance of all the candidates who sat for the exam. In a year where the mean score is very low, then there’s a high probability that JAMB will choose a low cutoff mark.

The minimum score for universities is applicable to all states, federal and private universities.
Scoring higher than the figures above doesn’t guarantee automatic admission into your university of choice. The mark assigned by JAMB is just the minimum score.
