1. Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike
The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture is a federal-owned university located in Umudike. Umudke is a semiurban settlement situated in Ikwuano LGA Abia State, Nigeria, about 11 kilometers southeast of Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State.
Currently (in 2019), the institution boasts a total of 44 courses, spread across several faculties. And as the name suggests, MOUAU is a university targeted at Agro-related courses.
2. Abia State University
Abia state university, as the name suggests, is owned by the Abia State Government. Founded in 1981, the institution boasts a student capacity of over 20,000. The institution lies within latitudes 05.33°N and 06.03°N, in Uturu town, north of the State.
3. Gregory University Uturu
Gregory University is a private university located in Uturu, Abia State. The institution was established in 2012 and currently boasts a student’s capacity of nearly 1,000. There are over 30 courses students can apply to study Gregory University Uturu.
4. Rhema University
Rhema University is a private Christian University situated within Abia State’s most industrious city, Aba. The Living Word Ministries International (a Christian denomination) owns Rema University. Rema University obtained NUC (National Universities Commission) accreditation upon its commencement of academic activities in 2009.
