A man from Washington DC has been arrested after he allegedly moved into a 12-year-old girl’s bedroom and hid in her wardrobe for one month while sexually defiling her.

According The Oregonian, the man identified as Zacharias Adrian Cavasos, 21, who met the girl on Snapchat had travelled from Washington to Oregon in February and secretly lived in her bedroom.

Speaking about the incident, the Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Martin, the suspect removed the support used to hold the girl’s mattress together – enabling him to hide beneath her bed.

On some occasions, Cavasos also used to hide in the victim’s closet until he was discovered by the girl’s grandfather.

On discovering Cavasos in the girl’s bedroom, the grandfather on February 25 and kicked him out.

However, according to the police, at some point Cavasos returned to the girls room again.

After he was found in the girl’s bedroom for the second time, the suspect was arrested at the home on the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

Prosecutors alleged that Cavasos admitted to first contacting the girl in December 2019 through social media; Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and text messaging.

According them, Cavasos had confessed to having sex with the girl multiple times.

In any case, Cavasos has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor in the U.S. District Court in Portland.

Cavasos lawyer, Thomas Price, persuaded Judge Youlee Yim to let Cavasos go to a clean-and-sober house.

According to reports, the judge said: “When I started reading the nature of the allegations, I really was quite surprised by what I read.

“I have never been aware of anyone alleged to have been living in a 12-year-old’s bedroom for a month.’’

In any case, Cavasos was released to a clean-and-sober house before trial and reports by The Oregonian, stated that Cavasos is commanded to use a GPS monitor at the facility and stick to a curfew.

According to court evidence obtained by Dailymail, the police allegedly found a video on Cavasos’ phone of the victim’s breast and with his penis against her forehead.

While defending him, his attorneys claimed that Cavasos has an intellectual disability.

He is forbidden from communicating with the victim or ever visiting her residence, Daily Mail reported.

Furthemore, his phone and computer activities will be under surveillance.
