A person from Yunnan Province in China died inside a bus he boarded while travelling back to Shandong Province for work.
This coming at a time the world is still battling to contain the coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged countries.
According to Global Times, medical authorities revealed the late man tested positive for hantavirus.
As such, 32 other persons who were on the same bus he boarded have now been tested for the disease.
According to Wikipedia, orthohantavirus is a single-stranded, enveloped, negative-sense RNA virus in the family Hantaviridae of the order Bunyavirales.
They usually infect rodents but don’t cause disease in them. Humans who come in contact with saliva, urine or faeces from the infected rodents may become infected with the disease.
A journal by the CDC reveals that Hantavirus has a fatality rate of 36%, making it by far more deadly than coronavirus.
