American Comic talent, Fred Willard, has passed away. He was aged 86.

Rep Glenn Schwartz confirmed to Rolling Stone that the ‘Modern Family’ actor died from natural causes.

He was popular for his roles in Christopher Guest mockumentaries ‘like A Mighty Wind’, ‘For Your Consideration’ and ‘This Is Spinal Tap’.

He also appeared on the hit series ‘Modern Family’ recently.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, the wife of Willard’s longtime collaborator Guest was first to share the news.

‘A fond farewell to Mr Fred Willard. How lucky that we all got to enjoy Fred Willard’s gifts,’ Curtis tweeted.

Fred was famous for his dog show host in Best In Show as well as his Emmy-nominated roles on Modern Family and Everybody Loves Raymond

Willard had a long television career dating all the way back to 1966.

A few of the famous series in which he appeared over the decades include Golden Girls, Get Smart, The Love Boat, The Bob Newhart Show, Laverne & Shirley, Roseanne, Married… with Children, Lois & Clark, Mad About You and Ally McBeal.

Commemorating him, Willard’s daughter, Hope Mulbarger, in a statement, said, ‘He kept moving, working and making us happy until the very end. We loved him so very much! We will miss him forever.

He is survived by his daughter Hope, whom he had with his wife of 50 years Mary, who died at the age of 71 in 2018.
