The Child’s Rights and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) has taken to their Facebook account to share photos of a 13-year-old girl who was locked up by her mother.

According to the reports, the woman was alleged to have locked, starved and tortured the little girl after her prophet declared that the daughter is possessed by a demon.

This happened in Oron, Akwa Ibom State. Reports have it that the girl named Mercy Effiong was denied food and was at some point eating her own faeces to survive.
