This guide will provide you with the price list and subscription codes for the various MTN data plans up for grab.

Needless to say, getting an internet subscription has become one of the basic necessities in this modern generation. Everyone needs to keep track of thing or the other on the internet; and thank goodness for all the cheap data plans and bundles on MTN, you can do all the things you need to get done without having to spend a fortune.

Here are all the MTN data plan bundles for androids, iPhones & Modems:

Daily MTN Data plans & bundles

MTN Nigeria currently has 2 data bundles for anyone looking to subscribe to the internet for just one day. They are:

50MB + 25MB Bonus Daily Plan

To buy this subscription, all you need to do is text 104 to 131 or dial *104#. Thereafter, you’ll get a data volume of 50MB along with a bonus of 25MB, making 75MB in total. You will, however, be charged a fee of ₦100 only and your access to the internet will end after 24 hours of purchasing the plan, which explains why it’s called a daily plan.

150MB + 75MB Bonus Daily Plan

As the name implies, with the 150MB + 75MB Bonus Daily plan, you’ll get a data volume of 150MB along with a bonus of 75MB, making a total of 225MB. And, similar to the first plan, you need to use up all your data volume before the next 24 hours or else it will be wiped off, that’s if you don’t auto renew.

To subscribe to this plan simply send 113 to 131, making sure, however, to have a minimum balance of ₦200 in your MTN account. Alternatively, dial the USSD code *113# on your device.

Weekly MTN Data plans & bundles

If you’re looking to subscribe to the internet on a weekly basis, then the following plans will meet your very needs:

₦300 for 150MB

With this weekly MTN data bundle, you can browse your favorite websites and download your favorite online contents for complete 7 days at the cost of ₦300 only. To subscribe just text “102” to 131 or dial *102#, while making sure you have a minimum of 300 in your account balance.

500MB for ₦500

This weekly plan is quite cheaper than the previous. You get a value of one naira per MB. To subscribe, SMS “103” to 131 or dial *103#. Obviously, you’ll need to pay 500 naira to get this done successfully.

Monthly MTN Data plans & bundles

The monthly data plan options available on the MTN network is almost everyone’s interest. Fortunately, MTN Nigeria has 6 options for any customer interested in getting a monthly subscription, depending your data volume needs or your financial capabilities; they are:

1 GB for 1K

As the name implies, with this plan you’ll get a data volume of 1GB if you text “106” to 131 or dial *106#. Make sure you have a minimum of ₦1000 in your MTN account balance, though. Your subscription to this bundle will expire in exactly 30 days. However, unused data will be rolled-over if you decide to renew your subscription.

1.5GB for 1.2K

This one is a slight improvement on the previous offer, and I’m sure almost everyone would want to take advantage of it. You’ll get an additional 500GB compared to the previous plan if you decide to spend an extra ₦200. In other words, you’ll get 1.5 GB for ₦1200 if you Text “130” to 131. Also, your subscription is valid for 30 days only. No more, no less.

To subscribe using USSD dial *130#.

2.5GB for 2K

To get 2.5GB volume of data from MTN, text “110” to 131. However, you must have a minimum of ₦2000 in your account balance to successfully subscribe to this plan which also has a 30-day validity period.

Alternative USSD code is *110#.

5GB for 3.5K

With this monthly MTN data plan, you’ll get 5GB volume of data for just ₦3500. To subscribe, dial *107# or Text “107” to 131. Instantly you’ll get credited with 5GB with shall be valid for 30 days only.

10GB for ₦5,000

MTN gives a data volume of 10GB for just ₦5,000. To subscribe, simply dial *116# or text “116” to 131. You subscription to this bundle is also valid for 30 days only within which you must exhaust all data volume or auto renew so as to avoid unused data getting wiped off.

22GB for ₦10,000

This the biggest monthly MTN data bundle up for grab. You’ll get a massive 22GB data to surf the net for 30 days if you text “117” to 131 or dial *117#. However, it comes at a cost of ₦10,000 only.

If you intend to subscribe to a data plan with a longer validity period, then there are two other options available for you to choose from.

60-day MTN Data plan

MTN has just one 60-day data bundle offer up for grab; and you have to cough out ₦20,000 to subscribe to it. And in return you’ll get 50GB volume of data that will expire in 2 months (60 days). To subscribe to this plan simply dial *118# or SMS “118” to 131.

Quarterly MTN data plan

If you’re looking for something longer than the previous offer you have, then there’s an option for you. You can subscribe to the internet for a whole 3 months (90 days) and have no need to buy another sub during that 90 days, provided you don’t exhaust the volume you’ll get credited with.

MTN gives a data volume of 85GB for its quarterly plan; to subscribe just dial *133# or SMS “133” to 131.

MTN data plans for accessing only social platforms (Goody bag)

For everyone looking to get access just to their favorite social platforms, MTN has what is called the “Goodie bag” plan.  All of those plans have unique subscription codes to access data daily, weekly or monthly for surfing only your preferred social platform.

You must take note, however, that whatever data you get for one platform will not work on other platforms. Therefore you must be sure of what you’re subscribing to.

Also, subscription to Goody bag gets renewed automatically. To avoid this, you need to send the appropriate code as applied to your subscription to 131.

Almost all the networks in Nigeria claim to offer the cheapest data plans; even MTN has pasted several ads claiming to offer the cheapest bundles for all internet lover.

But the question now is: are MTN data bundles really the cheapest out there?

The things is if we start over comparing things, we may get stuck in a debate. There’s no doubt, however, that MTN data plans are a lot cheaper compared to years back.

I’m certain several people will agree with me on the following facts about the data bundles from MTN Nigeria after seeing the price purchasing one of them:

• MTN data plans are cheaper compared to years back
• MTN network is fast in almost all cities and villages in Nigeria
• MTN data bundles accommodate a wide variety of needs.
• MTN data plans can work on all devices including Androids, iPhones, modems and routers.

There are a few things you must take note of, though. Only the daily subscriptions come with bonuses. And there’s a condition surrounding the use of MTN bonus data. Which is, it is only available for use from 1am to 7am daily (GMT +1: MTN Nigeria time zone).

Device settings to enjoy MTN data plans & Bundles

In most cases if you insert an MTN SIM to your mobile device for the very first time, you should get a message containing all the settings for that device. If that message, however, doesn’t arrive, then you need to manually configure you device to begin to enjoy all the amazing benefits that come with purchasing an MTN data plan.

The first thing to do if your device is not configured is to Text SETTINGS to 3888, free of charge.

In a few minutes, you’ll get a message containing the required settings for your device. All you have to do is save it and begin to enjoy steady access to the internet, provided you are subscribed to one of the MTN data plans already listed in this guide.

Alternatively, if you don’t get the configuration message on your device after sending the message above, you can decide to configure manually.
