a native doctor identified as Onyeonoziri Friday reportedly committed suicide near his shrine located at the back of his house.
Abia State Police Commissioner, CP Ene Okon confirmed the death of Okon in a telephone interview said that he committed suicide in front of “his juju shrine”.
According to reports, the family members were not expecting the news of his demise, as he did not leave any message as to why he took his life.
Friday, according to findings is in his late thirties and lives at Ukpakiri village in Amaise autonomous community in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to reports, he hanged himself while his pregnant wife and son were asleep inside their house.
The reason for his action was attributed to his persistent sickness, or could be as a result of frustration.
Unconfirmed reports have it that due to the strange hearts he has been exhibiting in the past two weeks, members of his family have been keeping an eye on him.
A source in the area, Ogadinma Nwachukwu said “it was this morning that we started hearing cries from his house and when we all gathered, we discovered that our brother, whom we all sat yesterday with is gone.
“When we asked the wife, she said that the husband told her that he was going to pass the night at Ntighauzor.
“After that, she went inside the house while the husband told her that he wants to leave his machine behind the house.
“According to her, she came out in the morning, only to see the corpse of the husband dangling on a tree behind their house.”
The wife who was emotional said that she can’t remember her husband having any misunderstanding with anyone. She only came out in the morning to see that her husband has committed suicide.
According to the wife, her deceased husband has been suffering from one sickness to the other and has done all the necessary rituals that he was asked to carry out because of his sicknesses.
According to the anonymous source in Aba Area Command who spoke on the issue said that police had already launched an investigation into the matter in order to determine if there is something fishy.
