A Nigerian Gay Rights Activist has taken to Twitter to reveal how he refused to employ a person simply because he isn’t gay.
He claimed his reason for doing that is that he doesn’t want to empower a system that oppresses him.
“If I trend on this app for not hiring a straight person, I hope y’all will come out for me. Because I just did it. Not going to empower a system that oppresses me,” he wrote.
A member of his community replied to his post saying he could have not refused to hire him because of his sexual orientation since he said he didn’t have anything against their community.
However, the tweep went on to defend his decision saying the gays aren’t treated fairly. He, furthermore, added that he can’t work with someone who doesn’t understand him.
Overall, his followers who are mostly members of the LGBTQ+ community saw nothing wrong with what he did.
