Uniforms used by the Nigerian Navy
The Camouflage
The Nigerian Navy officers used to wear a unique camouflage, also known as camo, during combined military duties with other armed forces.
The last unique camouflage was launched in October 2012 at the Naval Headquarters, Garki, Abuja.
However, the Nigerian Armed forces launched a set of camouflage for the entire military in 2016. In other words, the Nigerian Army, Air Force & Navy all now use the same camouflage.
The only visible difference is a tag at the left side of the chest that indicates the military type.
Air-Vice Marshal Muhammadu A. Muhammed, announced this in the launching ceremony saying, “Management has adopted the desert camouflage and woodland camouflage for our armed forces. While the desert camouflage is designed to blend with the terrain in the northern part of Nigeria, the woodland camouflage is adopted for the terrain in the South.”
Working Rig
The working Rig, as the name implies is a navy blue uniform used by Naval officials during field works.
