Basically, the region is home to the Hausa people, who also happen to be one of top three major languages in Nigeria. But aside from the hausas, there are several other smaller groups who make up the population.
For example, Kaduna which happens to be one of the most popular states in the north west contains Baju, Fulani, Jabba and several other ethnic groups as indigenous settlers.
The most popular cities in the region are Kano, Katsina, Kaduna and hosts of others.
Kano and Kaduna especially are popular for the high commercial activities that take place within them.
All the states above bear the same name with their capitals except for Jigawa, Zamfara and Kebbi for which Dutse, Gusau and Birnin Kebbi are capitals respectively.
