Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, visited President Muhammadu Buhari earlier today, 30th of January 2020.
According to reports of The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the meeting was unscheduled and held behind closed doors. Furthermore, it lasted for just 10 minutes
According to NAN, the former president’s purpose of visiting the villa is unknown because he did not speak to newsmen.
However, there are suggestions that it was “thank you” visit, as President Muhammadu Buhari had recently consoled him over an attack on his country home, Otuoke, Bayelsa, by unknown gunmen last December.
During the course of the attack, three of the unknown gunmen lost their lives and so did a soldier.
Following the dreadful incident last year, Buhari forthwith reached out to his predecessor to sympathize with him over the attack and reassured him of his safety.
The former president previously visited the presidential villa on Oct. 10, 2019, which was, of course, his last visit to the Villa before today.
