On Friday, the 7th of February, the Adamawa State Police Command said it has arrested 26 suspected kidnappers in Adamawa State.

The suspected kidnappers specialized in intimidating communities such as Fufore, Gombi, and Maiha local government areas of the state

According to the spokesman of the command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, the 25 man gang includes a minor whose name was not mentioned.

He said: “The police in collaboration with hunters arrested 26 members of a kidnapping syndicate”.

Furthermore, he said, “Among the suspects is a minor (name withheld) who was arrested at Wuro Ladde village in Maiha”

In addition to that, he stated that “He (the minor) specialised in providing information; supplying food to the gang.”

The command spokesman also added that the police recently busted a four-man syndicate who specialised in car stealing at Jimeta modern market.

According to him, three vehicles were recovered from the suspects and there is an ongoing investigation into the case.

He added that the suspected kidnappers would be charged to court as soon as investigation is complete.
