According to reports, D’Banj was questioned by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Adaku Anya, at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Garki, Abuja.
The Punch reports that a statement was also taken from the ‘Oliver Twist; crooner insisted that he never raped Seyitan Babatayo.
A top police source said, “D’Banj has been questioned twice at the FCID, Abuja. He was questioned last week and also this week. We will leave no stone unturned as we investigate the matter.”
They also invited Seyitan to give a statement but she said that she had no means of travelling to Abuja and instead chose to visit a police unit in Lagos.
“Seyitan appealed with us that she had no means of travelling down to Abuja. So, she has been given the option of reporting at the FCID Annex, Alagbon, Ikoyi,” the officer said.
Last week, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had ordered that an investigation be launched into the rape allegations levelled against D’Banj.
Earlier into the month of June, A friend of Seyitan had taken to Twitter to accuse D’banj of raping her friend in December 2018.
The friend, Benjamin Ese, said D’Banj allegedly raped Seyitan at Glee Hotel, in Lagos two years ago in an all-white hotel.
After her revelation, so much drama has unfolded. A few days after Ese’s narration, Seyitan came out to declare that she is the girl that was raped by D’banj.
Subsequently, the singer came out to deny the accusations. requesting for an apology and a N100m fine.
Thereafter, there were reports that Seyitan was kidnapped by D’banj and coerced into retracting her claims.
