France side, Paris Saint Germain has terminated Mauri Icardi’s contract following his wife’s revelation that he, Icardi, wants to return to Italy at the end of the season.
Icardi’s wife, Wanda Nara who is also his agent, revealed that the player wants to return to Italy, and this led to PSG terminating his contract.
Icardi, 27, has been in good form following his move from Inter Milan to PSG on a temporary deal.
The striker, whose relationship with Inter boss Antonio Conte has gone sour, has scored 17 goals in 26 appearances across the league and Champions League this season.
However, according to Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport, his time in France is set to end on a bitter note leaving his return and stay in Inter Milan in uncertainty.
Although his time in Inter Milan as the captain of the club was characterised with a tremendous goal record, Inter fans were happy to see him leave the club after a chaotic time at the club.
Wanda has been outspoken in the criticism of her husband which ultimately led to the club removing him from the captaincy.
Icardi who was infuriated declined travelling with the team for a Europa League clash with Vienna before isolating himself from team-mates.
Later on, he strived to sue the club for £1.4million after they forbade him from training and further pushed him out of the club.
Probably, Chelsea who is in dire need of a striker will likely pay attention to his availability after being linked with him in the past.
