The Peoples Democratic Party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with its main rival, the All Progressives Congress.

Founded in 1998, the PDP won every presidential election between 1999 and 2011 and was, until the 2015 elections, the governing party in the Fourth Republic.

Right now, although not as dominant as in its early days, the PDP still controls several states in Nigeria.

How many PDP governors are in Nigeria?

There are 13 PDP governors in Nigeria. It is noteworthy that the country is now controlled majorly by a rival Pary, the All Progressives Congress (APC) which controls 20 states.

  6. Delta State: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme (2023-2027).
