News of the Rivers state government demolishing two hotels have been making the rounds in the past few days.
The state governor, Nyesom Wike, had supervised the widely criticised demolition of two hotels, Prodest Hotel at Eleme and Etemeteh Hotel situated at Onne on Sunday.
According to the governor, they were demolished for flouting the State’s lockdown order.
In any case, Wike has received a lot of resentments from Nigerians for the demolition.
Many believed that he went too far by ruining people’s business and investment as a penalty for violating the state’s lockdown orders.
One Nigerian who has also condemned the acts is former presidential candidate and Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore took to his Twitter page, to express his disappointment. According to him, saying like is mad is an understatement.
