The University of Jos is situated in the Middle-Belt geopolitical zone of Nigeria. As the name suggests, it is located in the city of Jos, which is currently the capital of Plateau State.
Founded in 1975, UNIJOS is among the oldest universities in Nigeria. The institution, which currently boasts an enrollment capacity of roughly 16,000 students, has several courses students can apply for.

Requirements for UNIJOS Admission
For you to be considered for admission to study at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), you must meet up with some general requirements along with several specific departmental requirements.
Admission requirements for the various courses in UNIJOS can be found on the official website of the institution.
UTME cutoff marks & general requirements
To gain admission to the University of Jos through UTME, you must have scored at least five (5) credit passes in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) in not more than two sittings.
Additionally, your JAMB UTME aggregate score must not be less than 160. Take note, however, that some departments may require something higher.
- Those 5 credit passes in SSCE must include Mathematics and English Language.
- You must meet up with the SSCE subject combination and minimum UTME aggregate score for your specific course interest. You can find information regarding that on your JAMB brochure.
- Finally, it is compulsory to register and take part in the annual Post UTME screening exercise for UNIJOS.
Direct Entry (DE) requirements
- To gain admission into UNIJOS through Direct Entry, candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE in not more than two sittings.
- In addition to that, candidates must possess a minimum of two advanced level passes in OND with credit level or NCE with credit level.
