She was born in Lagos State. Though she hails from Ondo State in the South-Western part of Nigeria.
Omotola was born into a family of five; her dad, Oluwashola Jalade and her mum, Oluwatoyin Jalade née Amori Oguntade.
She is the eldest of three children. She has two younger brothers; Tayo and Bolaji Jalade.

Omotola did her nursery and primary education at Chrisland School, Opebi, Lagos state and Oxford Children School.
Then attended Santos Layout and Command Secondary School, in Kaduna State.
While awaiting her results from university, she started modelling to earn a living.
She completed her studies at Yaba College of Technology, where she studied Estate Management.

In 1995 she played her first role in the movie titled ‘Venom of Justice’. She played the lead role in the movie, which promoted her career in Nollywood.
In the same year, Omotola got another role in the famous film titled Mortal Inheritance. She played a sickle cell patient.
The movie is said to be one of Nigeria’s best movies ever. Since then, she has starred in several blockbuster movies.
