Just as Barcelona’s massive 5-0 win over Eibar is still being celebrated by the Catalan side; for a rival team, Real Madrid, it was not a good day.
Real Madrid lost their game yesterday evening to host Levante hence consolidating Barcelona’s top spot claim.
They played a goalless draw in the first half of the game.
However, in the second half, just eleven minutes to stoppage time, Morales put Levante one goal up.
So Real Madrid lost 1-0 to Levante, losing the three points that would have seen them climb back to the top of the table.
Not only did Real Madrid lose the game, but there was also an injury blow inflicted on the team ahead of next week’s El Classico and UCL match with Manchester City.
One of their key players, Eden Hazard was injured and sent off the pitch. Hazard just returned from an injury you will recall.
With this loss, Barcelona will be sitting at the top of the table now with a two points lead over Zidane’s side, pending future eventualities.
