Ronaldo comes ahead of arch rival, Lionel Messi who could follow suit next year.

According to Forbes, the 35-year-old Juventus star joins Tiger Woods and Floyd Mayweather Jr in the list of sports billionaires.

Ronaldo made £85million last year from his endorsement deals and wages. These earnings helped him reached this latest feat.

Although, his annual earning dropped by nine per cent after he took a pay cut on his wages at Juventus.

The pay cut became necessary due to the negative effect of the coronavirus pandemic on football clubs.

Despite his drop in earning, he was still able to reach the billionaire landmark before Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi, who may follow suit next year.

The Portugal national team captain also has his own company, CR7, in addition to being the most-followed sports star in the world on both Facebook and Instagram.

Ronaldo makes roughly £1million per post on Instagram – more than any other person in the world.

Two weeks ago, Ronaldo took to his Instagram age to share a video himself launching his museum store.
