Emma Nyra apologizes for lambasting people celebrating Hushpuppi’s arrest

Nigerians singer, Emma Nyra has apologized following the backlash that resulted from her bashing people celebrating Hushpuppi‘s arrest.

She had taken to her Twitter page to write saying, “A lot of people are happy about what happened to Hushpuppi because he was oppressing them on social media,” Emma Nyra wrote.

The truth is that rejoicing in his downfall is not gonna put money in your pocket. I’m tired of reading about someone else’s downfall. Let me jeje hustle my own.”

However, following angry reactions from Nigerians, she has now written another tweet to say she’s sorry.

“I genuinely apologize if I offended anyone. I never meant to do that. I simply meant that I’m tired of reading about it.

“Justice will be served when it comes to his case and understand that I would never defend his actions at all. I actually never did.”

Hushpuppi was arrested for alleged fraud that targeted nearly two million victims, including an EPL team and a U.S. law firm.

Several speculations are tying him with the fraud that made the United States lose hundreds of millions in coronavirus relief fund meant for the those who lost their jobs.

After his arrest by Dubai police, he was subsequently extradited to the United States where he set to face many charges of fraud involving money laundering, business email compromise, among other crimes.
