The English Premier League will return on Wednesday the 17th of June with Manchester United and Arsenal starting off the post lockdown campaign.

Manchester City will be hosting Arsenal while Aston Villa takes on Sheffield United.

Two matches will be played on Wednesday to make all the clubs in the league level on 29 games.

According to The Sun, ‘one match is then expected to be played on the Friday before a full round of fixtures across the weekend’.

Talks were held between the 20 top-flight clubs today to decide the best way to complete the season after the coronavirus crisis.

The Premier League was supposed to return on Friday June 12. However, it was postponed again as the players require more time to regain fitness after weeks of no training.

In any case, Premier League clubs have now collectively decided to resume contact training as they get ready for football to return.

All players and staff members are to be tested for the deadly virus before they are allowed to join in the training.
