Legendary footballer Samuel Eto’o has made a strong claim as to who is the greatest African player of all time.
According to the former Cameroon international, there is no debating the fact that he was better than Didier Drogba and former Senegal international, El Hadji Diouf.
His remarks came in response to Diouf he was the greatest striker to ever come from the African continent.
Clearly, his comment did not go down well with Samuel Eto’o who decided to hit back
“Even if my brother Diouf the last time, with an extra glass, got a little lost, there is no debate”, said Eto’o, making reference to Diouf appearing a little drunk when he made the remark.
“None of them [Diouf and Drogba] can come and say that they were at my level or better. And it’s not the fact that I say it, it’s a fact, it’s something that is there. I wanted to be number one and I have been throughout my career,” Goal quoted him as adding.
Indeed, Samuel Eto’o is one of the most successful strikers to ever emerge from the African continent, boasting 3 UCL titles and topflight trophies across several continents including the EPL, Serie A and La Liga.
