Juventus Defender Daniel Rugani Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Juventus FC central defender Daniel Rugani has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. An official statement from the club confirmed the illness.

Daniel Rugani also shared a post on his official Instagram account were he reassured those worrying about him that he’s doing fine.

Meanwhile, he also used the opportunity to thank the health workers who are working overtime as a result of the surge in infection across Italy.

“You will have read the news and that’s why I want to reassure all those who are worrying about me, I’m fine,” Daniel Rugani wrote.

At this moment, however, I feel even more duty to thank all the doctors and nurses who are struggling in hospitals to face this emergency. I urge everyone to respect the rules, because this virus makes no distinctions! Let’s do it for ourselves, for our loved ones and for those around us,” he added.

Italy is the hardest-hit nation in Europe, as coronavirus continues to sweep across the globe.

So far, over 120,000 people have been infected; a vast number have recovered while over 4,000 people have died.
