The Nigeria Police Force has announced the dismissal of two police officers for unprofessional conduct.

Recall that NaijaHomeBased, last week, shared a post containing the video along with the reaction from several citizens.

Residents of Iwo who reacted to the video described Ikuesan Taiwo, the officer who initiated the flogging as being renowned for barbarism.

After an investigation into the incident, the Nigeria Police Force dismissed both officers involved in the incident, and released a statement to confirm this development.

“Inspector Ikuesan Taiwo and Police Constable Abass Ibrahim captured in a viral video assaulting a woman in Osun State have been tried and found guilty,” the Police statement read.

“They have been dismissed from the force. They will be arraigned in court for prosecution,” the statement added.
