A video making the rounds on Social Media captures the time a nurse was caught carrying a newborn baby boy away from the hospital where she works.
The nurse was, however, engaged by passersby who accused her of stealing the baby.
The nurse who was standing along the road was the newborn with the placenta still untouched.
According to her, she was waiting for the mother of the baby.
In any case, observers didn’t buy her story. She was asked to call the mother of the baby on the phone before they’ll let her go.
The spectators accused her of wanting to steal the baby from the hospital and planning to sell it. However, she argued that that was not the case
The man taking the video could be heard saying that the nurse has no right to take a newborn baby out of the hospital compound and the only rationale behind the nurse’s action is that she plans to sell the child.
The nurse was subsequently interrogated, the nurse said she works at Mother of Mercy Hospital & Maternity Okpoko.
Eyewitnesses claim she was on her way to sell the baby at Upper Iweka by Owerri Road in Onitsha.
Some persons there took the opportunity to warn that parents of newborns to be very observant.
In most cases, the parent of the newborns are told that their baby has died, whereas the baby was stolen to be sold to a child trafficking ring.
