Police in north-western China’s Shaanxi province rescued a 79-year-old paralysed woman after her son buried in the graveyard. She was able to survive the three days of onslaught without food or water.
Her son has now been arrested in connection to the crime.
According to an official police statement, he has now confessed to burying his mother in a deserted tomb, south of Jingbian County.
The wife of the suspect reported her missing on Tuesday morning after her husband, identified as Ma, took her out on Saturday evening but didn’t return with her.
The officers revealed that when they arrived at the site they could hear a faint cry for help.
And when they dug the pit and managed to dig the woman out.
She is currently at a hospital where she’s receiving treatment. According to the police statement, she is in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, her son was detained on suspicion of attempted murder and could face charges.
