Nigerian actor, Uti Nwachukwu hit’s out at people who recently criticized BurnaBoy for a tweet he shared last week.

BurnaBoy declared that he’s the best in Nigeria since Fela. However, that remark didn’t go down well with several Nigerians.

A lot of people attacked the singer for saying that, some even went as far as calling him proud and not giving reference to the people who paved way for him in the industry.

Although the singer subsequently put them in their place by telling them nobody paved way for him and that everyone is in the industry from themselves.

Now, Uti Nwachukwu has come out to defend BurnaBoy amidst the continuous criticism.

He insisted that Burna Boy has helped Nigeria, and indeed Africa earn some respect globally.

“We should actually thank @burnaboy for putting RESPECT on our name internationally!! Especially at times like these where we have very little to brag about as a country! Entertainment has been our saving grace in recent times! PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME!! HE FREAKING EARNED IT!” the actor said.

According to Uti, there’s nothing wrong for people to accord themselves the praise they deserve.

“Why do we have a problem with peeps blowing their own trumpet?? Why do we call it pride?? If u are used to putting yourself down and not speaking as things are/should be, then stay down!! But DO NOT FOR ANY REASON FORCE ANYONE TO THINK AND ACT AS SMALL AS YOU! Respect @burnaboy!” he added.
