Popular Star Wars actor, John Boyega, has lashed out at Sky News for referring to a centuries-old African hairstyle as ‘Spiky coronavirus haircut’.
According to them, the hairstyle started growing in popularity because it’s 90% cheaper than other style
However, using the term ‘coronavirus hairstyle attracted backlash’, especially from the African community.
John Boyega, who reacted to the headline, did not mince a word as he called them ‘dummies’ for putting an article like that out there.
It appears the popular news website has now changed the headline to “Kenyan hairdresser says she is offering customers a ‘corona hairstyle’.”
The post went on to quote a hairdresser who claimed she was using the hairstyle to create an awareness for coronavirus.
However, that is quite questionable because the hairstyle has been worn by African women for several centuries.
