Update: Mob vandalize Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s family home on Lagos Island

Following the Tuesday night massacre at the Lekki tollgate, a group of people have attacked the family home of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Omididun Street, Lagos Island, throwing stones at the house.

The attack on the Lagos State Governor’s family home occurred on Wednesday 21st of October, 2020 after unarmed #EndSARS protesters were opened fire on at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.

Prior to the shooting, the state governor had imposed an impromptu curfew on the state.

However, the End SARS protesters did not leave the protest ground and were attacked by uniformed military men.

Earlier on, men arrived and removed the security cameras at the toll gate, then the lights were put off and gunshots were fired at protesters in the darkness.

Some people were killed and even more people were injured.

Subsequenty, the youths were angry and demonstrated their anger as they took to the Governor’s family home.

Eyewitnesses told Punch that one of the youths went as far as pouring petrol on the house but he was prevented from setting the house on fire.

The eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “Around 7.45am, angry youths gathered around Sanwo-Olu’s family home on Omididun Street, Lagos Island, throwing stones and shattering glasses.

“One of the youths poured petrol on the building but was immediately prevented from setting it ablaze because the fire could spread and lead to loss of lives.

Policemen attached to the Adeniji Adele Police Station reportedly rushed to the scene after they received report of the violence.
