4 Feared Dead as 20-Man Gang Robbers Raid 2 Banks in Ondo

It was a sad Thursday for the people of Ondo state as two banks in the state were robbed by a 20 man armed robbery gang.

Although the name of the banks has been kept secret, the banks are reportedly located in Ile-Oluji area of Ondo state.

The two banks were concurrently attacked around 4 pm, today the 6th of February 2020.

According to reports, two policemen were shot dead by the armed robbers who are not less than twenty in number. In addition to that, two other casualties have been reported.

According to witnesses, the robbers blew off the entrance of the banks using dynamites and they acted based on grass up

They arrived at the bank when the bank was about to close with customers usually in a hurry to beat time.

The robbers shot one of the policemen on the head, and the other, his stomach and both have been confirmed dead.

In addition to the 4 reported deaths, roughly ten other bank workers and customers were seriously injured.

The news of the robbery reached the town; consequently, some local hunters in the town mobilized and confronted the robbers in a shoot-out.

Reports have it that, some of the robbers reportedly took off in the vehicle with which they came for the operation while others fled through the bush.

Although Some soldiers were subsequently deployed to the town, the bandits had fled the scenes before their arrival.
