Glo is the second largest mobile network in Nigeria, with millions of customers who subscribe to one data plan or the other on a monthly basis.

But it’s a two way thing when we subscribe to a data plan. It’s either we want it auto-renewed, if we want to subscribe to the same bundle; or we want renewal done manually, if we don’t intend to subscribe to the same plan.

How to activate auto renewal on Glo

Glo introduced this feature in order to save their customers the stress of redialing several codes. Therefore, as soon as you dial the code *777# and subscribe to a data plan, the auto-renewal feature becomes automatically enabled, by default.

So to activate auto renewal all you have to do is subscribe to a data plan and ensure you have up to the amount you used for your subscription before it expires or gets exhausted; with that your plan will get renewed without a need to dial any code.

How to stop auto-renewal on Glo

To stop auto-renewal on Glo, just send the message “CANCEL” to 127 (without the quotes). And this message must be sent before the expiration date or exhaustion of your current data plan, or else it might get renewed automatically, and your money will not get refunded.

  1. Glo forcefully put me on auto renewal which i did not apply for, I’ve been sending CANCEL to 127 for days now but all to avail. I see no reason why you should be forcing your product on us.

Hey I think before subscribing you’ll put auto renewal or one off depending on what you want the next time you try to sub. 😢😓 I wish I could convert my data back to airtime hence cancelling the auto renewal so I could resubscribe to another plan. This auto renewal fucked me up. I forgot to stop it before my last plan got exhausted, now am stuck with a plan I don’t want to use until it finishes. 😢😰😰

I have been trying to stop the auto renewal, l have called glowing customer care and l followed the instructions given severally but all efforts proved abortive, when l sent CANCEL, it’s not always sent, it says message not sent, what else can l do? This started when I started doing 5X recharge. .

  5. I canceled the auto renewal but any time i want to check Halloween much MB i have left it says your account Your account is PRE_ACTIVATED and will expire on 01/08/2119 10:40. You are on N500. Your remaining volume is 6527 MB. Your renewal status is CANCELED.

  7. Hello and thanks for your information, but is not helping when ever I sent cancel to 127 , I got a message back that I can’t cancel the data auto renewal. I just think this is now the a way of stealing from people… Which they can’t try in my Country Germany… One has the right to control his or her renewal , they should fix this system so that people have their control over how their used their money and data. If they continued this their stealing. Maybe I see Glo in court.

    • Hi, I always use the code above to cancel auto-renewals. I’m not sure why the network has denied you access to that option. Please, kindly contact Glo customer care using 121 to get assistance on your issue.

  8. So how do i activate auto renewal back? I cancelled it initially, but i have done another data plan. When i check my mb remaining, it still tells me my auto renewal is cancelled. I wants it activated
