The political unrest in Edo State is taking a new turn as the state government is calling for the arrest of Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Edo State has been in the news of late due to the current state Governor constantly being at loggerhead with his predecessor
The state government said it has entreated the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and has demanded the arrest of Oshomole.
Speaking to reporters at the APC Governors Forum Steering Committee meeting in Abuja, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr Philip Shuaibu, said that ” The Law is a respecter of no one”
When everybody disobeys laws the state and the country will become a banana republic and so Oshomole should be arrested
Although Shuaibu confirmed that Oshiomhole continues to be his political father in the state, nevertheless his actions threaten the peace and security of the state.
He claimed that the APC national chairman has constantly disobeyed orders of the state government by organising illegal rallies.
