Arsenal vs Man City Postponed Over Coronavirus Fears

The Premier League fixture between Arsenal and Manchester City has been postponed. According to an official statement released by the EPL, the postponement is a necessary precautionary method.

The decision was reached after it was discovered that Evangelos Marinakis has contracted the deadly coronavirus.

Evangelos Marinakis who is the owner of Olympiakos greeted Arsenal players when both teams met 13 days ago. Due to that, it became necessary for all of Arsenal Players to undergo a medical check-up.

The statement reads, “Tonight’s Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal has been postponed as a precautionary measure following the announcement on Tuesday that Evangelos Marinakis has contracted COVID-19.

“Thirteen days ago, Olympiacos played Arsenal at Emirates Stadium in the UEFA Europa League and Mr Marinakis, the Greek club’s owner, met with several Arsenal squad members and staff.

“Following medical advice, Arsenal FC and Manchester City FC consider it is necessary to postpone their fixture due to be played this evening, Wednesday 11 March, to give time to fully assess the situation.”

Meanwhile, the Premier League plans on rearranging a new date for the fixture
