Sanusi Lamido: ‘Disrespecting a Governor isn’t a criminal offence’ – Apostle Johnson Says

0

Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to the recent dethronement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II as Emir of Kano and reported banishment.

According to the popular pastor, a Governor has no right to detain anyone that hasn’t committed an offence even if he has the right to dethrone Sanusi.

He, furthermore, stated that disrespecting the governor is in no way a criminal offence.

“I can understand the dethronement of the former emir of kano. “What I don’t understand is the detention, over what? A governor has [the] right to depose a traditional ruler but has no right to detain anyone who has not committed an offence. Disrespecting a governor is not a criminal offence,” Apostle Johnson Suleman wrote.

Meanwhile, several other people have also criticized the move by the governor, including Femi Falana (SAN) who insisted that the Ganduje cannot be the accuser, prosecutor, and judge at the same time.

Recall that just last night, El-Rufai gave the emir an appointment in Kaduna State.
